About the Book

Long ago...

...in ancient Mesopotamia,

lives a young boy called Uraby, who wants nothing more than to be sixteen at last.  His plans are cut short, however, when many complications land him alone and homeless in the distant Akkad...just in time for him to stumble headfirst into solitary vampirism. Oh, and not to mention -- he's wanted, dead or alive...but preferably dead.

After several costume changes, and with the help of some friends, he is able to avoid capture...but can the young Uraby outrun an enemy that has longed for his death since the moment he was turned immortal?

On this quest with Uraby, it will soon become plain that the "history" we know is not entirely true...

About the author
"Birde Williams, author of the Young Vampire series, hails from southern Pennsylvania.  She began writing at 15 years of age, published her first book, Lamia of Akkad, at 17, and plans to continue a career in writing science-fiction, fantasy, and horror.  Her target audience is young adults, but her material is suitable for most ages.  She also designs and draws her own cover art (with a little help from Rocky Nunez of the Llumina Team, of course).  The next step for her is branching out to a mainstream company, so her novel can be put on the shelves to pave the way for the next nine books in the Young Vampire series.  Now a freshman at a liberal arts college, Birde plans to earn a double major in English Literature and Studio Art.  In her spare time, she enjoys singing and playing violin, cello, and piano in her family's band called Eminence, making and watching movies with fellow writer David Grant, and of course, creating artwork for and writing her books."
