| About the Book
To many, obtaining an American visa is a strong statement of
acceptance and opportunity. For many others, a rejected visa
application is a damnation.
The Visa follows the dreams and adventures of two international
students as they pursue their degrees in the U.S. Dreaming of success
and short on cash, they embrace the American culture which already
dominates their own homes --Trinidad and Tobago and Bermuda. Hardship
and determination are balanced with rewarding experiences in and out
of college.
Their story celebrates what can be achieved when dreams are acted
upon in earnest. Opportunities present themselves in desirable,
unpredictable, and unwanted situations. Careful planning gives way to
knee-jerk reactions and major setbacks will have to be overcome if
goals are to be met. One thing is certain - their lives will change
more than they, or anyone else, ever expected.
