Bates has seen the world.
Born in Albany, Georgia, he’s lived in California, Virginia, Colorado,
Maryland, Alabama, Guam and Germany. He graduated from the University
of Georgia. While serving in the United States Army, he was stationed
overseas in Vietnam, Okinawa and Korea.
