Teacher of Destruction

Notebooks are found in the Amazon jungle written by a research biologist, telling of an ancient civilization and of a humble man, Master Teacher Pawlsin.

Pawlsin reluctantly accepts the position of Regent of the Education Agency of the planet Oris.  Pawlsin's life up to this point has been peaceful and uneventful, but it suddenly changes as an attempt is made on his life, he falls in love for the first time, and the planet Oris is destroyed by an asteroid.

Pawlsin and a handful of survivors escape aboard a large spaceship designed to be a Mobile Planetary Learning Center.  They gather up the remaining citizens of Oris living on other planets and travel to Avatar, where they hope to re-establish their civilization.  Wassun, the leader of the Council of the Wise, reveals himself to be a cruel dictator.   Pawlsin leads a rebellion to oust Wassun and his henchmen and establish a colony where they can survive.
