| About the Book
What do
you do when the body of the young girl you had secretly desired
rises from the dead and demands you have sex with her? Peter Wesley
doesn't know, but is soon to find out. White Crow is due to record
their first album next Monday. But then Peter receives word that the
object of his obsession, his nubile teenage stepsister Renée, has
crashed her sports car into a pine tree, killing her instantly. His
plans with White Crow and concern for his mother clash and throw his
mind into a maze of conflicting emotions. What to do? What to do?
Then Renée’s naked ghost makes an appearance, and that settles the
matter. Something has gone terribly wrong, and his mother may be in
danger. Indeed, everything that is important to him may be in
danger. Peter packs up his fiancée Diana and dutifully heads home to
Lake Foley for the funeral and the commencement of the Seven Day
Viewing—a macabre Silverstone custom marked with traditions from a
bygone era, rituals rooted in their mysterious New Orleans origins.
Then Renée’s body has problems staying dead . . . . Peter Wesley
begins to unravel the mystery with the help of Renée’s spirit, who
visits him in dreams, and the help of a paranormal investigator who
videotapes Renée’s dead body sitting up in her coffin and discussing
the matter. Then, when Peter thought things couldn't get any worse,
Diana mysteriously disappears. And so does Renée’s body, which
apparently got up and walked out of the mausoleum. Peter must find
them both, somewhere deep in the thick woods surrounding the
Silverstone estate. If he fails, Diana will die, and Renée’s soul
will be forever trapped in the void .
