| About the Book
The inspiration
for Search for Love came to Ladislau Hajos in the late 1960s
as he was walking through the parks of Szarvas, Hungary, with his
uncle, the great Hungarian artist Gyorgy Ruzicskay. The latter’s
book, Searching for Love, was published in three editions
(1935, 1945, and 1985) and nephew Ladislau was so moved by his
uncle’s search for love and by the stories in what his uncle
considered to be his biography that he knew he, too, must someday
write the family’s story.
As the only
surviving family member, Hajos had a difficult time collecting
information for this book, and feels vindicated in its completion and
in the fulfillment of his promises to himself and his family.
Search for Love is the product of a long and difficult road in
which he immersed himself in research and welcomed significant help
from others.
