The author hopes to revitalize discussions concerning modern self-defense and century-old techniques.

About the Author

For nearly a quarter of a century, Master Brandon H. Myers has been studying the martial arts. A fourth degree black belt and master instructor in the Korean art of Tang Soo Do, Master Myers is well versed in the traditional methods of oriental arts. He serves as a member on the Board of Directors and as Technical Advisor to the International Christian Martial Arts Association.

Master Myers is employed as a patrol sergeant and defensive tactics instructor for a municipal police department south of Chicago. Due to the inherent dangers of police work, he was forced to re-examine the effectiveness of traditional martial art techniques. Having studied and trained with some of the most recognizable names in the self-defense community, Master Myers has taken ideas and knowledge from each of these masters and presented them here for all to view.

Master Myers lives with his wife, Kathi, and his two sons, Damon and Samuel, in a small south Chicago suburban city. His strength of character and dedication to improvement comes from his strong Christian faith.
