About
the Author
Kelly M. Velayas, whose great-great-grandfather was secretary of state
for Abraham Lincoln, his father a US Military Advisor in Southeast
Asia, and his mother a nurse, was born and raised in California. Yet,
when presented with the opportunity to work abroad at a young age, he
resolved to abandon his studies. He has spent the majority of his
adult life in Latin America: from the Isla de Margarita to São Paulo,
Brazil and diverse places in between. He has worked as a lineman in
the United States and farm operator in Brazil. He’s tutored English in
São Paulo, and his production company Cyclone Cinema has just produced
its first feature film. He also maintains his ranch-farm, "Velayas
Valley," in Northeastern Brazil. |
