About the Book

For petroleum engineers and geologists, advancement in technology, practices, equipment, and methods of field analysis have produced new terms, abbreviations and mnemonics in exploration, seismic survey, logging, drilling, completion, modeling, operation, and production. Practical English-Russian Petroleum Dictionary is an up-to-date reference tool for Russian- and English-speaking petroleum engineers and geologists. The dictionary contains terms, abbreviations and trade names of field tools and methods not easily found in other publications. The glossary includes approximately 10,000 English and Russian entries, and if a term has no counterpart in one language, a new term is introduced and defined. All trade names are transliterated.
