At the end of our first story, we
left Mike Duffy up in his room on a Saturday night, grounded. But,
it hasn’t been so bad being grounded this time; Mike has a friend he
can talk to. You see, nestled secretly in the valley of a mountainous
toy pile in Mike’s room is Demetrius Minneapolis, the world’s smallest
person.
Mike has found himself in a
serious pickle. In a mere two weeks he has an “appointment” with the
school bully Vinnie Black under the Weeping Willow. Mike has convinced
himself not to become a “groveler,” and cave-in to Vinnie Black’s
demands. To Mike, standing up to the Vinnie is the logical way to make
the bully leave him alone.
There is only one problem…he has
no idea how to do this. Luckily for Mike, the world’s smallest person
is able to provide a solution.
The Mike Duffy stories are
colorful andfull of action. But there is more to Mike Duffy than
boyish adventures and sticky situations.Just below the surface are
themes like loyalty, courage, friendship, persistence, and strength in
family.
