Each human being has the capacity to live more soul-fully. As each person does so, everything and everyone that is part of that person's life is affected from the perspective of consciousness. This is a good thing.

Soul's work is to change whatever it can, to make use of appearance and form, and to reveal the Divine Impermanence of those same forms. The constant in life is consciousness and the light of it. From one lifetime to the next, it will be the consciousness (or mind to the Buddhists) that will survive, not the body, the form.

The Seven Laws of the Soul can be clearly seen in our lives, in the life of the world, and in the creative processes put in motion by people growing in consciousness. This is magic in the world. Our mission, then, should we choose to accept it, is to grow in the light that in in us, to be a "lamp unto ourselves" as the Buddha instructed, to be the "light of the world" as Christ told us, and to truly understand, as the Sutras state "that all exists for the sake of the soul."

About the Author

Donna Mitchell-Moniak's teachings come from a life of contemplation and spiritual practice and are grounded in everyday human experience. Donna teaches a wide range of consciousness-expanding courses and experiential workshops that reveal deeper meaning and understanding. This is done through both the Center for Esoteric Studies and Spirit Fire Meditative Retreat Center, which she founded. Her focus is soul--the soul in all. She is a friend and mentor to many, and her 20 years of work with students has expressed her essential teaching: Life is One; All Beings are One. Donna lives in Arlington, Massachusetts with her family and pets.
