About the Author

Len Gutman is a freelance writer whose work has appeared in a variety of magazines and newspapers, including the Arizona Republic, where he was a regular columnist. After the tragedies of Sept. 11, 2001 and the President's challenge to all Americans to spend 2,000 hours over their lifetime volunteering in the community, Gutman knew he wanted to perform community service, he just had no idea where to begin. Giving Time is a year long chronicle of his journey to serve his community. He lives in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife,
Leslie, and their son, Connor.
