“This is the start of a new beginning . . . for us and for those left on the Earth.”
Astrophysicist Dr. Thomas Philbrick predicted the cataclysmic event that creates a shockwave, slows the Earth's core, and weakens the magnetic polar field. Solar winds destroy the atmosphere and destructive electromagnetic pulses wreak havoc, igniting electrical systems like red-hot toaster wires. Fires force everyone outside, exposing them to harmful radiation. Four groups survive: the Hopi in Oraibi; the scientists within NORAD; the marooned lunar base members; and random survivors who have been protected, by chance or design, in caverns and concrete structures. After the cataclysm, a revitalized magnetic field with an altered frequency causes genetic aberrations. Telepathy enhances those who are genetically predisposed for self-discipline. But a reptilian-like behavior attaches to those prone to self-indulgence. Is this the new beginning that Dr. Philbrick foretold?
About the Author Stephen J. Grisanti, a single father and science teacher, lives with his fifteen-year-old son in Las Vegas, Nevada. After receiving B.A. and M.S. degrees in English from Fredonia State University, he completed his M.S. in Educational Leadership at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. While living near petroglyphs and studying Southwest American Indian folklore, Stephen involved himself in extensive research concerning mass extinction periods. His findings are the premise of this story. He chose to introduce his theories in a fictional format, combined with the prophecies of Nostradamus, the Hopi Indians, and the Bible.
