| About the Book:
In this illuminative prayer book, I find a
clear explanation of all the names of Jesus that I find in the New
Testament, no doubt very important for understanding the essentials of
our Christian Faith. A prayerful reading of this book leads to a
profound admiration of the supreme gift of God to humanity – his Son,
Jesus Christ. Indeed, I see the reading of this book as an enriching
spiritual exercise that comes as a medicine for the healing of a
sinful heart, a gentle and comforting consolation for a saddened
spirit, a lasting delight for a believing soul and a clear light for a
wavering mind, because the names of Jesus have supreme power. Here is
the book to read and reflect on, thereby invoke the powerful names of
Jesus in sublime prayer at every time of need – Dorothy Byrnes,
a Roman Catholic.
For the first time, I came across a book that
has excellent commentary on all the names of Jesus as found in the New
Testament. By meditating on the forty names of Jesus, I understand
more clearly who Jesus is, from where he came as a fully divine person
and perfectly human being, what he accomplished for the salvation of
the world and what his future role in the total restoration of not
only mankind but the entire creation in divine glory. I am very
certain that a meditative and prayerful reading of this book will
provide an exciting contemplation of the sacred mysteries of Christian
Faith – a must for every true Christian – Augustine Jeevaratnam,
a Protestant Christian.
Jesus, the eternal Son of the heavenly Father,
the perfect image of the invisible God, emptied himself of his radiant
majesty, became one of us, though without sin, offered himself as the
supreme sacrifice for the redemption of mankind and now leads us to
the heavenly Father as the way, the truth and the life. A clear
presentation of this wonderful truth is what I happily find in this
excellent book! What a joy to contemplate the infinite, pure, eternal
and immortal love of the heavenly Father, as revealed in his Son,
Jesus Christ! A prayerful reading of this book and the contemplation
of the holy names of Jesus restrains the impulse of anger, repress the
swelling pride, cure the wound of envy, extinguish the flame of carnal
desire, temper the engulfing avarice and put to flight ignoble
thoughts – a very useful prayer book long awaited – Sebastian
Moolakkal, an Orthodox Christian.
