About the Book:
The Formula is a contemporary,
character-driven mystery that begins with
what appears to be a senseless murder of Dr.
Laura Russo who is found at the base of a
popular hiking trail in Aspen, Colorado.
The
lead investigator, Ronnye Christakos, a
childhood friend of Dr. Russo, quickly
discovers that her friend’s death occurred
because Dr. Russo had become the target of
international assassins who were seeking to
steal the formula for a drug that she has
been researching since college. This drug
has the potential to change the behavior of
military personnel, as well as, treat
post-traumatic stress disorder.
In her
investigation, Detective Christakos is
assisted by, and becomes romantically
involved with, Dr. Wayne Buckley, a Denver
pathologist. Together they face the fact
that they are pawns in a murderous game of
global intrigue.
Gregory, Dr. Russo’s
brother, an Army Ranger working in a special
operations unit in Afghanistan, returns to
the U.S. for his sister’s funeral and vows
to help Ronnye find his sister’s murderers.
Colonel Ziv, an Israeli officer, had an
appointment with Dr. Russo to discuss
Israel’s potential involvement in the
testing and production of the drug she
discovered. However, after Dr. Russo’s
murder, he finds himself personally involved
not only in the investigation, but in an
international web of deceit.
