| About the Book
In
the tent that night, under a brilliant star-filled sky, I saw my
first-ever shooting star, as clean and clear as the African night.
On that star I wished I could find the strength, courage, and words
to write my story so that others would benefit from my experiences.
And I wished I could find a way to make Africa feel as good as she
has made me feel time and time again. I wished I could heal all of
her wounds, cure all of her sick, and feed all of her hungry, as a
favor for what she had done for me.
What
do you do when you realize the life you’ve spent seventeen years
creating isn’t the life you want? An intense and serendipitous
relationship spurs a workaholic professional to confront this very
question as she approaches the mirror of age forty. The answer author
Dana Atkinson finds leads her on a surprising journey into herself,
and into the heart of a continent of which she has only dreamed. What
she finds is a self she has never met, and a home she has never known. |
