About the Book:
Nestled among the green pines and blue lakes of
New Hampshire is Laconia, a picturesque tourist town for fifty-one
weeks per year. For seven days each summer, it hosts the wild and
crazy Laconia Motorcycle Week, where over a quarter of a million
hardcore bikers and motorcycling wannabes fill the roads and highways
looking for a good time.
Longtime friends Doc and Bear hit the rally with
newbie Chet. They anticipate a week of wine, women and song. Instead
they encounter hatred, pain and fear. No one can say if any of them
will survive to the end of the rally or suffer a terrifying death.
About the Author:
Steven Grimes, MD, is an Emergency Room physician
and Harley Davidson rider living in Peninsula, Ohio. He has been in
love with motorcycles for over thirty years. He estimates that he has
ridden over a half million miles on two wheels and has traveled in
over forty states. Not bad for someone living on America's North
Coast, complete with month after month of winter snow! Dr. Grimes has
spent over fifteen years caring for some of the sickest people in the
world, on ER night shifts away from bosses, suits, and ties. He has
been an acclaimed teacher of young doctors in training and is now
medical director of four busy fire departments in northeastern Ohio.
Once told, "Write what you know," he has done just that. Who else
could write authoritatively about emergency medicine as well as bikes,
babes, and booze?
