| About the Book
A poem is an invitation to journey through time and into new worlds; it is a summons to join the adventure. Allow yourself to be drawn straight into the moment, share victory and defeat, sorrow and triumph. Poetry is the exposure of enlightenment and regret. It is the forging of a common bond and an offering of insight that travels straight to the heart of humanity.
Pools of Blue
I looked up and chanced to see,
a man whose gaze was straight at me,
with chiseled face and weathered skin,
tight set jaw and callused hands,
and then I looked into those eyes,
deep blue pools of midnight light,
and saw what had been written there,
years of heartache and despair,
lonely days and endless nights,
an empty hopeless wasted life,
so much pain those eyes had kept,
I tossed the mirror down and wept.
