Conversation with a Butterfly is poetry in transition. Just as the butterfly changes, we as people change everyday. We fail, we learn, we grow, and we succeed. We may not take on wings, but we take on other characteristics in our very own personalites and some of us through physical traits. As we live and mature we take on a certain confidence that allows us to not only "fly" but "soar." Some of us even walk a little taller and smile a little wider. This book articulates how I have felt in some instances in my life. It personifies my ideas of evil and good and of course what love and triumph are all about. Our imaginations can take us anywhere and to me my imagination allows my personal experiences to become more abstract, allowing myself to open up through pen and paper. Call it a "twist on life." For what is life if not boring if we can’t add a little spin on it once in a while. ENJOY!
About the Author Amanda Hunt is originally from Sherwood, Arkansas. Raised with two older brothers there was never a dull moment at the Hunt house. At the age of eighteen she left home to join the Navy, where she learned much about life, independence, and the truth about "growing up." Currently she is studying hard to pass her state boards for her RN degree this summer. She started writing poetry five years ago in her spare time in an effort to keep a journal of her thoughts. Through motivation from friends and loved ones she finally compiled these thoughts into a book. This is her first book and she hopes it will not be her last.
