About the Book:

Set soon after the Civil War in the Northwest Indian and ranching country, Chandler’s Destiny, The Saga of Rafe, and Total Revenge tell the story of several generations of an Old West family.  Follow Red Chandler, his son Rafe, and his Indian granddaughters from the New Orleans bayous to the newly-settled frontier as they adventure and fight to survive.

With voodoo, ghosts, and gunfights, the story of the Chandlers is a tale of hardships, narrow escapes, family honor, and revenge.

About the Author

C-Boy was born a red-headed, freckle-faced identical twin in the sawmill town of Springhill, Louisiana, a mile south of the Arkansas line.  For names, he and his brother were only given the initials AC and AD by their superstitious grandmother, for the country doctor had given up on them. AD was given the nickname Doc after the ruddy faced Irish doctor, while AC was dubbed C-boy, a pen name he uses to this day. It was very common in the rural South to give everyone a nickname.  C-Boy was given the name Red when he went to work in the oilfields where he spent his adult life.

The depression was in full swing; the sawmills were shutting down, and life was hard. Doc and C-Boy’s family moved to a hill farm close to a big creek bottom, and when they got big enough to have guns at thirteen years old, they hunted and trapped for sustenance. When World War II broke out, their dad got work in a defense plant in Shreveport, LA, where they later moved, and got after school jobs toting ice.

After C-Boy retired to Toledo Bend Lake on the border of Louisiana and Texas, he started writing short stories about his early life in the depression and later his life in the early rough and tumble oilfields. When he sent them to his younger sisters, one of their friends encouraged him to write a book. As he and all his brothers and sisters are avid readers encouraged by their father, he found himself up to it.  He has started on a new book, The Day they Banned Christianity, and hopes to get his more than sixty short stories published as well.
