Sam, a very brave, courageous (or so he boasts) young mouse, leaves his family behind to go in search of a great magician who he believes can make him human. But Sam is not alone. In his path are a cat that wants to eat him, a beautiful but vain butterfly, and a very selfish turtle. On his side are Jeanie, a third grade girl who’s confused when she realizes that she can understand Sam, and a very smart parakeet. But at the end of his journey, Sam learns that not all is what it seems.
