| About the Book
Originally entitled The Kangaroo
Court, and not truly a critique of American government, America On
Trial is a tour-de-force of political philosophy, containing
shocking advances in the theories of separated powers, mixed
government, the rule of law, and the scientific underpinnings of
justice. Proceeding upon the work of Aristotle, Plato, Locke,
Montesquieu and Rousseau, Williams takes the next step in the
evolution of political thought, positing such breathtaking theories
as the Harmonic Constitution, the cubic separation of powers,
Constitutional Dialecticalism, and Fractal Micro-federalism. With
one book, Williams has wrought a new era of political thought.
Cleverly written as a fictitious court case, the novel begins with
Sophocles' character Antigone being prosecuted by the United States,
as if her ancient situation had occurred today. Williams thrusts
Antigone into American courts to contend with American law. When she
loses on appeal to the Supreme Court, she appeals to a mysterious
higher court, which hears and dissects her claim that America is
unjust. As America fights back, a furious debate of political
philosophy ensues, weaving together 2,500 years of history and
philosophy. A new political theory is forged, based on the great
political doctrines of the classical and enlightenment eras. The
histories of England, Rome and Sparta, chaos theory, fractal
geometry, Caesar's politics, special relativity, and serial
endo-symbiogenesis are all but parts of this integrated new
political theory. With this important book, Williams has launched a
new era in political philosophy. His Fractal Politics and Harmonic
Constitution will set the world on its ear.
