| About the Book
The reader of this fascinating book will find
himself alternately choking up and chuckling over various passages
that describe the humorous and emotional aspects of Dr. Miller’s
life story. It begins with his grandfather Joseph’s narrow escape
from Cossacks in Russian dominated Poland. The tender final parting
of Joseph with his son, Abraham, is followed by the odyssey of
Abraham to Mobile, Alabama and the fulfillment of his secret pledge
to his sweetheart, Minnie.
Dr. Miller next relates interesting insights of a
Jewish child growing up in the Deep South during the Roaring Twenties
and the Great Depression of the thirties. Incredible coincidences
resulted in his decision to become a physician and his resolve to seek
out better treatments to relieve human suffering. One of his major
discoveries was an aerosol medication, Alevaire, which dissolves
suffocating mucus from the lungs and has saved the lives of many
newborn babies. It also dissolves obstructive mucus plugs from the
lungs of adults with COPD, providing permanent relief in many
patients. DR. Miller describes how he cam to make equally valuable
discoveries for the relief of migraine, ADHD, irritable bowel
syndrome, Crohn’s disease, and chronic hives, as well as hormonal
disorders such as PMS, menstrual cramps and endometriosis, and certain
serious virus infections, including influenza, mono, shingles, fever
blisters, genital herpes, and chicken pox.
Readers will delight in tales about his wife,
children, and grandchildren and the tradition of nightly bedtime songs
and stories, providing a gentle insight into warm family interactions.
