Condominiums, Conch Shells and
Consciousness by Liza Sisk |

Condominiums, Conch Shells and Consciousness, writes—Rarely
do we notice that the Fibonacci series...repeats in our stream of
consciousness. Every sequence of poems in this collection confirms
that possibility. Sisk’s subjects move in and out of the particular
and the universal: first this-worldly, about the challenges of the
common grass allergy, buying a condominium; then other-worldly, about
everyman traveling from earth to heaven, the three weavers deciding
our fate. Read more...

Delta Blue
by Russell G. Robison
|
"I walked among Giants...and they called me brother... My
words can never express our awe of them..." Poetry dedicated to
the men and women who served with the author during his 3 tours
in Vietnam.
I was stationed
at a naval support base in the Mekong Delta
that worked with the Mobile Riverine Force (USN),
and the 9th. Infantry (US.Army). Much like a
mechanic working at a gas station near an
expressway, we fixed the ships and watched the
traffic go by. We saw the price the MRF paid
in its battles with the enemy. The battle
scarred ships bore silent testimony to the
fierceness of their struggles. They were our
heroes, we watched them take the fight to the
enemy at a heavy price.

words are life: from the philosophical, to the political, down
to the rawest, loveliest, dirtiest emotions a person and a soul
can feel.
This collection is a definitive compilation of
Casey Hutson’s best poetic works to date. It
combines two elements in a symbiotic harmony:
her words and her photographs. Her words are
life: from the philosophical, to the
political, and right down to the rawest,
loveliest, dirtiest emotions a person and a
soul can feel. Her photographs allow us to
enter a black and white world where her
feelings aren’t just skin deep, they are
written right there on the flesh in heavy
black ink for us to see and feel.

On Rendering Heartbreak Obsolete
by Cathy Wasserman
|
A collection of poems
translucent in its cool surfaces and rich in the fire of volcanic
interiors. Ultimately, it is an engraving of soul.
In this debut collection of poetry, Cathy
Wasserman courageously chronicles her travel
to the farthest realms of heart, tapping into
the well of loss and yearning that lives in
each one of us, and offering startling honesty
and hope. With each poem, the author performs
an emotional autopsy to lay bare her heart’s
truest rhythms. Her tolerance for truth, no
matter how naked is unflinching. Her images
often jolt us into new awareness. |
