About the Book

The suspenseful, thought-provoking, and humorous story of two young Native American boys and the spirit world they lived in. On a river in northern New England, Little Turtle and Red Feather seek revenge for their father’s defeat at the hands of their tribe’s mortal enemy, the Mohawk, only to run afoul of a devious Mohawk shaman. Years later, school kids living in a town built over the Abnaki campsite discover a secret cave with a picture of a giant snake. Their growing interest in the lives of Little Turtle and Red Feather soon brings the children more than they bargained for. Odd happenings, great dangers, and an unusual leaf teach wonder for the natural world around them. But will they survive the lesson?
