About the Book:
From a wedding poem to expressions of passion,
intimacy and eroticism, Tides of Life is a roller coaster of
emotions, a study of love desired, lost and regained. Tashika speaks
about the unspeakable, exploring taboo themes, unfaithfulness and
deceit, written from the perspective of both the deceiver and the
deceived.
Each poem draws you into conflicts, questions and
dilemmas, but giving a breather from the serious and complex, there
are poems which simply play with words or have a twist of humour.
Originally written as personal communications, this
substantial collection now provides an opportunity for others to
reflect on their own relationships, to express a sentiment towards
someone else, to read aloud, or simply to enjoy for the sake of
appreciating a fresh look at experiences that are timeless and
universal.
About the Author:
Tashika Cecchetti has been writing poetry since she
was a young teenager. She trained as a dancer and actress, but health
problems and life events prevented the fulfillment of her career, so
she put her energy into running a dance and drama studio for young
people.
After a variety of subsequent jobs and experiences
she retrained and has been a practising counsellor and therapist for
the last fifteen years. She now helps adults and children using many
different creative mediums, including poetry.
