About the Authors:
Nick
Paleveda received his B.A. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of
South Florida in 1979. Mr. Paleveda attended the University of Miami
receiving his law degree in 1982. Next, Mr. Paleveda attended the
University of Denver and received his Master of Laws in Taxation in
1983. He was inspired to go to law school by his cousin William
Saxbe, the Attorney General of the United States under Richard Nixon
and Gerald Ford. During summers, Mr. Paleveda attended programs in
Oxford University for law in England and Harvard University in the
U.S. In 1984, he was admitted to practice in the State of Florida
and admitted before the U.S. Tax Court and the 11th Circuit Court of
Appeals. Mr. Paleveda became a partner in the tax law firm Hampton,
Paleveda, Murphy, Cody and Levy which employed 13 J.D. LL.M or J.D.
CPA tax attorneys in Florida.
Marjorie Ewing, MBT, is a graduate of Cal State Fullerton where she
received her B.A. degree in accounting. She received her Masters in
Business Taxation from the University of Southern California and
spent two years in the Tax Department of PricewaterhouseCoopers in
Los Angeles. Ms. Ewing also has a B.A. degree in English from
Georgia State and attended NYU, Oxord University and the University
of Washington.
