About the Book:
The book is about my life history including my
education, working record and retirement activities. I was in the Navy
in WWII. I have visited many places such as Hong Kong, Taiwan and many
other cities in the states. The cities in the U.S. were part of Air
Force conventions – a different city every year. Many times I went to
Washington, DC and visited the Arlington Cemetery.
About the Author:
I am eighty-seven years old, five feet tall and
weigh 110 pounds. My husband and I have been married for fifty-six
years. We have two daughters and three grandchildren. I have worked
most of my life – starting in our family-owned variety store. After
high-school I worked as a payroll clerk, then joined the Navy as a
WAVE.
For two years, I worked for a company that made
television turners. Later I worked for ten years for Raytheon Company
which made heavy equipment for U.S. I had gone to college for 2 ½
years and decided to go back in the evenings for my degree which I
received. We moved to Florida and I accepted a position with Gale
Research – publishers of reference books. When I retired, I moved to a
retirement community and served on nine different boards for the home
owners association.
I love to read and do needlework which includes
tatting, knitting, and needlepoint. I have conducted a class in pool
aerobics for twenty years. |
