About the Book:
Based on historical events shortly after the
South’s surrender in the United States Civil War, A Far Piece to
Travel follows three Confederate soldiers trying to return to
their homes after the cease fire.
Traveling from Arkansas to what is now Arizona,
the three encounter outlaws, Indians, Mexican bandits, a pernicious
villain and even French and Belgian lancers, facing romance,
adventure, and challenges.
Johnny Reb is part Cherokee and one of his best
friends is a full-blooded Cherokee. Facing the prejudice and reality
of this era, people from all walks of life band together in times of
need and become brothers and sisters in arms, contributing to the
multicultural makeup of what is now the state of Arizona.
