About the Book:
Rev'd. Father Rodney A. Burrows
was born in Matthew Town, Inagua, Bahamas, on 11 February 1943. In
March 1961, he enlisted in the Police Force. He rose to the rank of
Superintendent and served as staff officer to three Commissioners of
Police: Mr. Salathiel Thompson, Mr. Gerald Bartlett, and Mr. Bernard
Bonamy. He retired from the force in August 1992.
In September 1992, he entered
Codrington College, Barbados, to test his vocation to the sacred
priesthood. He successfully completed his testing and was ordained
Deacon on 22 June 1994. He served his diaconate at his home parish of
Christ the King, Ridgeland Park. He was ordained to the priesthood on
9 June 1995. Following his ordination, he served as Assistant Curate
at Christ the King until his posting to St. Gregory's Parish in
February 1996. He next served as Assistant Curate at St. Agnes Parish,
Grants Town from September 1997 to February 2007, when he was posted
again at Christ the King as Priest-in-Charge. Rev'd. Fr. Burrows
retired from the priesthood on 30 April 2010.
