About the Book:
Many centuries ago, the van
Eyck brothers painted a masterpiece. It was comprised of twenty panels
depicting a religious narrative that continues to inspire far beyond
its date of creation. One of the panels was stolen, and ongoing
searches for it lead us to strange encounters, both historical and
present-day.
A sociopath with a
deep-rooted hatred against his brother, spiritually motivated by this
work and its history, seeks revenge upon humanity.
Another painting, ordinary
in its inception and nameless in its existence, becomes an object
instilled with magic. Its painter, Decharelle, cannot name it despite
life-long attempts. Our sociopath plans a theft of this painting,
retribution, and his own suicide around this work.
All will end.
Redemption is not of this
world. A twisted discourse is all that is left, a discourse uncertain
of its value and unsure of its survival.
