Bookstore Returns and Representation:

Llumina’s POD Returnability Program

Welcome, and congratulations for enrolling in a program that is an innovative industry first.  Below is a list of obligations that will be fulfilled once participation has started.

What you’ll receive once you enroll:

1.                 Within 20 days of completion, your book it will be listed as “returnable” to every bookstore that purchases books from Ingram Book Company and from Llumina.

2.      If books are purchased and then returned, you will still receive your royalties on the sale.

3.      Your book will appear as returnable for a period of 12 months from the release date of your book at a cost of $500.  The royalty protection period continues for six months beyond the initial 12 months.

4.         Renewal option after the original 12-month period is $140 per year from the expiration date.

5.         Llumina will make every effort possible to have books listed as returnable with other wholesalers such as Baker & Taylor, Koen and Bookazine.  Authors will be able to buy returned books at deeper than usual discounts.

6.         Advertising – Your book (if you choose to participate in the Llumina Winter/Spring, and/or Summer/Fall catalogs) will be included in our high quality full color catalog and sent to over 2500 bookstores and library centers nationwide. Our next catalog will include a full page on our upcoming reprinted bestseller, Phantom by Susan Kay, which will lend credibility to all our books.

6.                  Disclaimer – While it is Llumina's belief that our POD Returnability Program will greatly enhance your chances of selling your book to bookstores, this is by no means a guarantee.
