Publicity Campaign*

 

 

 

Over the years we have found that a lot of authors don’t feel qualified to go after publicity and would rather have someone else do it. This is why Llumina offers several marketing and promotions packages designed to help you get publicity for your book.  They each provide the materials needed—including press release, sell sheet, biography of author, review copies, etc.—to help provide maximum exposure and sales for your book.

 

Well, it's taken a while, but we've finally found that "someone else."  Mitchell Uscher and Carrol Mendelson are the Directors of Llumina’s Public Relations and Marketing Departments.  They have been doing public relations and publicity work for many years and have many contacts in the field.  Their services are now available to Llumina’s authors.

 

Our Publicity Campaign* is designed to work in conjunction with the Professional Marketing and Promotion Package.  Using the materials provided by this package, Mitch and Carrol will contact the media, write and send out press releases, and try to persuade reviewers to read your book.  They will go after the attention you and your book need!

 

In conjunction with the Professional Promotion Package, our Publicity Campaign* is a two-step process that provides these services:

First Step: 

·                    Carrol and Mitch will read your book and research the appropriate press and media targets

·                    They will set up a strategy designed to reach these targets depending on what type of book you have written and what geographical location you live in

·                    Write a press release, sell sheet, and author biography for your press kit

·                    Compile a list of book reviewers from newspapers, magazines, literary journals, radio, television, and the Internet, etc.

·                    Send out 50 to 100 press releases to these reviewers

·                    Follow up the press release with phone calls to selected targets

·                    Send out additional press materials including the galley to those reviewers who agree to read the book

·                    After an appropriate period, Carrol will follow up with phone calls and ask for reviews.  It can take reviewers up to three months to respond to publicity materials—please have patience.

·                    Reviews will be forwarded to the author and to Llumina’s editorial department where an editor will select excerpts for the back cover of the book.  These will be forwarded to our art department so the cover can be finished and the next 24 review copies printed

·                    These review excerpts also will be added to your press materials

 

 

Second Step:

 

·                    Carrol and Mitch will compile a new and expanded list of press and media targets including additional newspapers, magazines, literary journals, radio and television programs, the Internet, etc. that might be interested in your book now that it has been released.

·                    Send hundreds of press releases to this expanded list of targets

·                    Follow up the press release with selected phone calls

·                    Send out a press kit including the galley to those reviewers, writers or correspondents who agree to read or write about the book, interview the author, etc.

·                    Reviews, articles, and interviews will be forwarded to the author and to Llumina’s editorial department where an editor will select excerpts.  Reviews and other stories will be posted on the author’s webpage on our site.

·                    Carrol and Mitch will add these reviews, articles and interviews to the author’s publicity materials so they can be included in any future publicity campaign
