With Llumina Press—Yes!
With returnability, your self-published book can now appear
on the shelves of bookstores across the country.
Llumina Press offers
returnable POD books to booksellers everywhere. Now
POD authors can have every opportunity traditionally published authors have,
including returnability and bookstore advertising, both necessary components
of success for the POD author and the bookseller. It’s simple really:
Returnability +
Marketing = Bookstore Sales
POD book sales have suffered in the past because of the risk
involved in stocking them on retail shelves. Conventional publishing houses
offer returns even on the books of the most famous authors—so, if a book doesn’t sell, the bookstore loses nothing. Why take
the risk on an unknown author who has self-published and can’t provide that kind
of insurance (no matter how good the book is)? This inability to take returns
has been a major stumbling block in the POD arena, but Llumina is
leveling the field by making books returnable via Ingram. When
you choose to enroll in Llumina’s POD Returnability Program, you make your book
more attractive to booksellers everywhere by removing the risk.
The cost of having your book listed as returnable with Ingram is only $500.00 for one year, and $140.00 for each
additional year thereafter. And royalties WILL NOT be charged back to you
ever. For a period of 18 months you keep all of the royalties from your
book sales, even if the books are returned. Your program fee is like insurance;
it covers all return expenses for 18 months.
Llumina started out by solving the quality issues inherent in POD,
demanding that all our books be well written and edited—even if that meant
publishing fewer books. Now, we have found a way to eliminate a major obstacle
to selling POD books to booksellers by making them returnable. So, when
approaching a bookstore, not only will you be able to tell them that your book
is published through Llumina Press, you will also be able to let them know that
your book is returnable with Ingram Book Company and thus is available virtually
risk-free.
***IMPORTANT:
While
it is hard to curb our enthusiasm for the benefits of these programs, it remains
incumbent upon you as the author to continue to work diligently to market and
promote your book. Returnability does not guarantee that your book will be
accepted by every store approached. It does, however, remove a huge obstacle to
POD and allows us to give our authors greater opportunities for success.
